President Biden to Visit Saudi Arabia This Month

He will stop in Israel first.

President Biden will travel to Saudi Arabia later in July to participate in the summit of Gulf nations. World leaders, journalists, and humanitarian organizations are trying to anticipate how the president will navigate a face-to-face conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is believed to be behind the murder of American journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.

President Biden has been noncommittal on how he is likely to navigate such an encounter, or whether or not he will have a one-on-one conversation at all.
